When: Third Sunday of the month for six months, 9am-1pm

June 16 – Skirts – what a great way to celebrate Father’s Day!
July 21– Mats
August 18 – Baskets
September 15  — Boats with Special Hosts Diana Almendariz and Ooti Maxine

Where: Tending and Gathering Garden at the Cache Creek Nature Preserve, 34199 Co. Road 20, Woodland

Wintun-Maidu cultural practitioner Christina Almendariz will lead a series of hands-on workshops with tule — one of the oldest living wetland plants.Christina will teach how tule is used to make cordage (rope), clothing (skirts),  dolls, baskets and other traditional cultural items. Participants will have the opportunity to work with tule and learn about its role in sustaining healthy communities and the environment. 

The workshops are free, but space is limited to 25 participants.
